Acorn Printing offers exciting new custom neck labelling service for small orders
Acorn Printing, based in Coventry, have invested in a new manual screen printing machine which allows them to offer a new services to customers. The new M&R Chameleon allows small runs of t shirts to be printed with the flexibility of neck label branding, giving a full customized service to small companies. Acorn Printing already have this neck labelling service for large orders but this new machine allows small orders to have neck labelling printing at low cost.
The Chameleon is a 6 colour and 6 station machine allowing Acorn Printing to offer small runs of t shirt printing at even lower prices for their customers. T shirt designers can now get their designs printed and have their brand featured in the neck of the t shirt rather than the manufacturer of the t shirt. The t shirt will now stand out from the competition with its own label and messages in the label.
Not only designers and smaller businesses can have their own branded t shirts, the neck labelling service saves money as the cost of printing a label in the neck of a t shirt is much cheaper than sewing a custom label into a garment.
Clive Horlor, Managing Director of Acorn Printing, stated that ‘The ability of printing labels in the necks of t shirts means we can offer a new service to small companies who want to design their own t shirts and get them printed under their own brand in small orders. The speed and efficiency of the new machine allows us to lower our prices for our customers.’
Neck label branding is a way of labeling t-shirts by printing the size, washing instructions and the make of the t shirt directly onto the fabric of the garment along side your own brand and any custom messages.

Our embroidery machines are in full swing this week as we embroider a wide range of garments, including hoodies, sweatshirts, shirts and sports wear for our clients. Our Embroidery Manager is working hard to get out all the orders this week.
We are delighted to embroider for a variety of businesses and organisations including Universities, Sports Clubs, Student Societies, Charities and Individuals. New T Shirts Available at Acorn
This week we're pleased to announce that we have added 2 new t shirts for you to personalise – The Event T and the Nano by Stedman.
The Stedman Event T, code ST2000, is a Ring spun cotton t-shirt available in several basic colours – black, white, blue, green red, grey and yellow. It is a light weight t shirt at 155 gsm but because it is ring spun cotton it feels very soft and heavier than other t shirts at the same weight. This Stedman Event T is ideal for an event t shirt, get your logo, designs or names printed on the t shirt and promote your company where ever you are!
NANO Promotional Tby Stedman is grams in white and 145 grams in black. This is the only promotional t shirt that is available in ring spun cotton which gives a much softer feel to the fabric.

Installer Live 2011 Review

We’re back in the office and just finished unpacking from 4 days at Installer Live at the NEC with our friends from The Workwear Shack. It was a great show where we gave out over 1000 leaflets and brochures and over 1500 keyring bottle openers. Our promotional items were very popular with the attendees who came from all over the country, the furthest attendee we met was from Scotland and closely followed by a group of students from Cornwall. We gave away our own printed Workwear Shack T Shirts to anyone who bought workwear or had a quote.
We sold lots of workwear on the stand including boots, jackets and gilets, created stacks of quotes and took orders for personalised workwear and vehicle graphics. Business owners we spoke to were very keen to get personalised polo shirts with their logo embroidered on the shirt and vehicle graphics were very popular.
The other exhibitors were very interesting, lots of interesting solar panel companies promoting the latest technology to tool manufactures and their latest offerings. We even saw some celebrities during the 4 days including darts players James Wade and Tony O’Shea and Tommy Walsh.
The event was extremely well organised and efficient, we had no problems erecting or dismantling our stand in such a short space of time.

Cotton prices settle down

Since the floods in Pakistan in 2009 along with several other weather related problems in growing areas such as Russia and America effecting cotton prices, we have seen cotton reach an all time high moving from around 30cents a bale 18 months ago up to $2.30. This has had a dramatic effect on the textile prices in Europe and around the World.
In times of recession it is difficult to convince the user that prices are on the increase whilst their own earnings are been squeezed. The price of synthetics such as polyester has also risen due to the price of oil so we have seen polyester based textiles also rise over the last 18 months.
It does look as if the prices have settled and cotton has even started to come down again. The problem is whether the growers will stay producing cotton or switch their crops to more profitable areas such as Bio fuels and food based products.

Clocks Go Back – Be Safe – Be Seen
The clocks go back 1 hour at 2am on Sunday 30th October 2011. British Summer Time ends despite the great weather we’ve been having over the past week. This means that it will be getting darker earlier so make sure your staff are safe with some high visibility clothing personalised with your company logos on.
