The ESMA Sportswear and Fashion T-shirt conference originally scheduled for February 3rd has been postponed – to the disappointment of t shirt printers everywhere.

ESMA (the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association) regularly hosts specialist printing conferences. However the one-day ESMA sportswear and tshirt printing conference, scheduled as part of this year’s TV TecStyle Visions International Trade Fair at Stuttgart, has been postponed. The good news is that it will be held later in the year, probably in the Autumn. It will be the first time ESMA has held a textile printing event.

It was not by chance that ESMA scheduled their conference to coincide with TV TecStyle Visions, where custom t shirts will naturally play a major role. Running from February 2 – 4, the fair is an essential event for anyone wanting to know the latest ways to customise hoodies, t-shirts and polo shirts. However, ESMA sensibly decided that to make their conference as complete and attractive as possible it needed its own spotlight. Initial reports suggested a new date around Easter, but it now looks likely to be nearer to October.

Whatever date the conference is held, it is certain to be of interest to anyone who produces personalised hoodies – or who is thinking of moving into this area. Organising it as a standalone event has enabled ESMA to restructure the program, with longer, more detailed presentations and tshirt printing workshops using the latest technologies and materials. Clothing once worn for sporting activities, such as custom polo shirts, have now entered the fashion market – another area the ESMA conference will focus on.
