What is the minimum order quantity

With the range of processes we use at Acorn we can in most cases a minimum quantity of 5 items.

Screen printed garments with multi colours do however have a minimum order level of 20 off due to the requirement of making the silk screens.

Do I get discount for large orders

In our online catalogue a discount structure is shown. For very large orders please contact us for a quotation.

How do I choose the right size

The size availability is shown in the catalogue for all the range of clothing. It is important to remember that there may be a little shrinkage over time and it is always better to go for one size larger if unsure. Personalised garments cannot be returned or exchanged due to size as they are produced to the customers needs only.

As manufacturer's idea of small medium and large differ we do include on the web site chest sizes. The sizes shown are to fit chest size shown.

If you are buying for someone else always check with them or go for that safety net of one size bigger. Remember its better to be a little large than not to fit at all.

Can I get plain garments

The simple answer is yes. Email your requirements and we will quote by return.

How good does my artwork have to be

We get artwork sketched from an idea right through to artwork supplied by graphic artists. Using the latest CAD CAM computer systems we can turn your idea into finished artwork in most cases free of charge.

If the customer wants multi coloured highly complex designs and they want Acorn to supply the artwork, they would be quoted as part of the overall quote.

Can I get my company colours

If specific colours such as pantones are needed to conform with corporate imaging, then this is possible with screen printing however with embroidery only very near matches are possible due to the thread colours available.

How do you deliver my order

This depends on the size of order and where it’s going. Generally in the UK smaller parcels are sent by royal mail and TNT sends the medium to large despatches. The delivery date is agreed at time of quotation and forms part of the offer. If dead lines are critical we should be informed when requesting the quote.

Can I contact you by phone

Many customers view the web site and choose to call us on our free phone number displayed on the home page.

Is it safe to use my credit card

Today many thousands of credit card transactions take place every day without problem. At Acorn we use a secure encrypted site, which means a very high level of security. We have chosen as our partner HSBC as one of the Worlds largest banks and online secure payment provider.

We are also very happy to take credit card payment by phone or by Cheque prior to shipment.

All About Embroidery

Embroidered Clothing looks and feels a little more special than printed clothing. Polo or Pique shirts along with sweatshirts suit Embroidery particularly if smaller designs are required or the garments are to be used in an environment where quality is being promoted. Embroidered designs can be produced in small or large amounts and once the initial Jacquard has been made then the design can be repeated at a later date quite simply.

What can be embroidered

Most articles of Clothing can be embroidered, however some are designed to be, by having linings etc that can be split to allow the garment under the machine. We can help you choose the right clothing for embroidery

The Jacquard

A Jacquard or digitisation today is a design that has been transferred from the graphics package on the PC to the Embroidery machine and therefore is stored electronically for future use.

The Design & Cost of a Jacquard

The Jacquard or design is charged by the amount of stitches in the design. Once we have seen the design or sketch we can then quote for the jacquard based on its size. Please remember the Jacquard cost is only incurred on the first order. It can be reused without cost on repeat orders.

The cost of a jacquard is approx £12 per 1000 stitches although on the larger designs a discount structure exists. We will quote for each design. A design for the LHB (left hand breast) can vary from 1000 stitches to 8000 with the average being about 3 to 4 thousand.

Colours

There are many shades of Cotton available, An embroidered design can have up to 12 colours, although most generally have only two to four colours.

All About Screen Printing

Note prices quoted exclude VAT.

T Shirts, Sweat Shirts, Polo Shirts, and Caps etc.

DTG Printing

DTG or Direct to garment printing is a new technology that Acorn has invested in. This process allows short runs of multi coloured designs to be printed direct onto the garment.

Garment Care

We only use the best quality garments. All our clothing has been pre shrunk, however please ensure that the washing instructions are followed and never BOIL any of the garments. The ink used is colour fast but like all plastisol based inks must not be Ironed. Damage will be caused to the design if these instructions are not followed. Always Iron the Printed Logo from the inside.

Artwork

Simple artwork with one or two colours is FREE. However we may have to charge if the artwork is very complicated or involves a great deal of work. We will inform you of any costs prior to starting any work.

Screen Charges

On silkscreen printing has a screen made for each colour. The charge is a one off charge on the first order only and is not applied on repeat orders. Screen charges are at the top of this page.

Embroidery

We do offer a very extensive Embroidery service please call for quotation. There is a cost for the jacquard or digitisation which is the cost to prepare the design for embroidery. This is only incurred on the first order.

T-shirt Transfers

Using computer graphics and laser printing we can produce transfers for printing one off garments with your photograph or artwork. This method is ideal for producing short runs of multi colour work on most garments.

Printed T-shirt Application Processes

Using the latest technology Acorn can supply garments and gifts in small or large quantities. From your favourite photo to the Company Logo. We have a process to suit your needs.

Printed Fabric Colours

Acorn only uses the best quality fabrics from leading suppliers, that’s why our customers come back time after time.

Garment Colours
The Colours shown are only shown as samples. Please note you cannot consider them to be exact as your monitor set up can vary considerably.

Ink and Thread Colours
If Company colours are pantone then we can match these on request, however thread colours can only be matched to the nearest available.

How Your Printed Clothing will be Delivered

Depending on the size of the order and the amount of artwork required delivery dates are agreed at the quotation and acceptance by the customer. If the delivery date is critical due to the garments being used for an event, holiday etc then please state the date required at the time of filling in the request for a quote form.

Vat is charged where appropriate. Export orders subject to import duty in the customers own country are the responsibility of the customer.

Delivery charges are shown at time of quotation and agreed at customers’ acceptance of order. Delivery will be by Royal Mail or carrier subject to size of shipment.

Caring for Your Printed Fabrics

Whilst we only use quality garments and goods, many of the articles contain cotton. Today most cottons are pre shrunk however when washing any garment the washing instructions should be followed as washing to hot can result in shrinkage and possible damage to the material or print, therefore ruining your item of clothing.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS on the garment label.
