The small order dept are about to receive their new Direct to garment printer, a Brother GT-541. The new printer will help them produce high quality full colour designs on to white and light coloured clothing in small quantities, even one off t shirts can be produced quickly and efficiently.Direct to garment printers are new to the garment decoration industry. Until now it has never been easy to produce a multi coloured image onto garments in small batches that is cost effective either for the manufacturer or the customer. The new printer will allow a rapid response time and a high resolution image to be produced a reasonable price. The colour fastness is also excellent unlike some of the earlier transfer printing systems.Duncan Horlor, Acorn’s design and Art Director believes the benefits for the customers are many. This will allow us he explains, to service the smaller customers with the same design compexitity that normally only the larger volume work can enjoy due to expensive setup costs.
